Luca Wetherall is a countertenor, jazz pianist, guitarist, and composer. His debut release, The Blue Bird, recently premiered on BBC Radio 3.

Luca began his singing career as the inaugural alto choral scholar at Liverpool Cathedral under the direction of Lee Ward. He now reads music at the University of Oxford where he also holds a choral scholarship. Luca has sung countertenor with many choirs including the Schola Cantorum of Oxford and the Liverpool Philharmonic Choir Chamber Choir under Vasily Petrenko. Luca was recently a featured young artist in the Bitesize Proms concert series and has performed as a soloist with the Instruments of Time and Truth and the Orchestra of St. John’s. 

He is an experienced soloist and ensemble singer as well as being an active composer and arranger. His most recent choral work has been performed in workshops by the BBC Singers. Luca also works as a jazz pianist and a vocalist for a professional big band. Luca has experience as a musical director, choral conductor and arranger, and as a session vocalist and keyboard player. He enjoys practicing audio and video production, creating music videos for YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok which have amassed over 50,000 followers and 20 million views across various platforms. Luca’s videos have been featured by both Classic FM and composer Eric Whitacre.
